Imanuel Geovasky is originally from Mojokerto, East Java, and has been living in Yogyakarta since 2007. Imanuel earned a Bachelor's degree in Theology from the Faculty of Theology, Duta Wacana Christian University, Yogyakarta, Indonesia (2013), and a Master's degree in Peace Studies from the Graduate School of Public Policy and Social Research, International Christian University, Tokyo, Japan (2015).

Imanuel is an ordained pastor of the Christian Church of Java. He has been also an adjunct lecturer on Theology and Peace Studies at the Faculty of Theology, Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana since 2018. Besides his ministerial service, he also conducts research in inter-religious relations in Yogyakarta, identity politics, religion in the public sphere, and peace spirituality. His broader interests are also in Human Security, Peace Education, Peace Psychology, and Peacebuilding frameworks.
