Having bachelor degree in Mathematics from Iran, Nabiollah Masoumi studied M.A. in philosophy at Pune university - India and pursued his M.Sc. in GIS and Remote Sensing from Peradeniya University - Sri Lanka. In the year 2020, he joined ICRS for his Ph.D in Indonesia. Nabiollah is interested in Inter religious dialogue as well as the history of Islamic mysticism and Persian Sufism. He is familiar with the writings of Persian mystics such as Rumi, Nezami, Attar, Hafiz, Saadi and others. His research at ICRS would be a comparative study of Allama Iqbal Lahori (1877-1938) and Shaikh Mahmoud Shabestari, the 13th century Persian Sufi, in their books with the same name: Gulshan e Raz (the rose Garden of Mystery). The research would try to explain a paradigm shift from classical Sufism to Iqbal’s modern way of mysticism.
