Description:
This monograph documents the formation and development of ICIR Rumah Bersama after the 2017 Constitutional Court Decision on indigenous religions. It presents ICIR’s work as part of an ongoing process of “citizenization,” understood as a dynamic and participatory practice of citizenship in both legal and everyday life. Through intersectoral collaboration and cross-issue literacy, ICIR creates spaces of equal encounter for penghayat kepercayaan, masyarakat adat, and other communities. ICIR also recognizes the diversity and overlapping terminology that shape their lived experiences. This awareness encourages ICIR to work beyond Indigenous Religions issues and to elevate the aspirations of other vulnerable groups as essential parts of the citizenship ecosystem. This monograph highlights these efforts as part of the continuous struggle of “Citizenizing in the Shared Home.”
