The ICRS engagement on human dignity stemmed from the various research that examine the issue of dignity across religious boundaries. One of ICRS’ Core Doctoral Faculty, Dicky Sofjan, is one of the Original Signatory and Co-Convener of the “Punta Del Este Declaration on Human Dignity for Everyone, Everywhere”, which was signed on December 2-4, 2018 in Uruguay. Since then, ICRS has been involved in conferences, workshops and presentations on the principles and promotion of “human dignity for everyone, everyone”, namely in Bologna (Italy), Brussels (EU-Belgum) and Tokyo(G20-Japan). Currently, ICRS is facilitating a collaborative research entitled “Human Dignity in Religious Traditions”, which will hopefully develop into an edited volume. The first series of workshop was conducted at Oxford University in the United Kingdom. On this subject, ICRS has been closely working with Brigham Young and Baylor Universities as well as with the previous EU Special Envoy on Freedom of Religion and Belief.
